Now that isn't true, people did like Kes. And that is why they fired her and kept the shithead. Voyager writers just trolled the fans.

I preferred Kes/Tom.

I adored Tom/B'Elanna at the end but back in the day I thought Kes and Tom had some shared egotism that worked.

Neelix could just kind of stuff it. Or go off and have a cop show with Tuvok. IDK.

I'm still pissed off that they killed off Kes. Honestly, she was my favorite character on the show. I watched the fifth season and part of the sixth and gave up because it had become the Seven of Nine soap opera. (And as much as I liked Seven of Nine, really?? Every other episode did not need to revolve around her or the Borg. I may be in the minority there since everyone else I know seems to adore her.)

Oh man, I don't even know why people hate Neelix. He was the best. I was so brokenhearted when they broke up. Also when they wrote Kes off the show in general. And when everything pretty much started sucking.

I care I care! I'm still kind of bothered by it too, not to the point I can't sleep at night or anything, but... they were just so sweet. Sure, Neelix was kind of a twit sometimes about her, but at least he recognized it and tried to get better about it.

Actually I remember when they broke up in one episode, then it turned out she was possessed, and I was like "...Oh, whew." And then later on when another episode referred to them having broken up, I was all "What?! But... Noooooooooooooo!" And that never really went away.

On the other hand, I think Neelix's character improved afterwards. I liked him more than I expected to, but in the later seasons, I grew to really authentically like the guy. Which makes it all the more sad that she's not there to be awesome and adorable with him.

I like this show! And I loved them as a couple, they were adorable. I think they were good for each other, and they had similar outlooks on life.

...in fact, I flove the episode Before and After and the only reason I could never totally get into it is that I couldn't buy Tom/Kes. I'm sorry Tom! I do love you too!

Thankfully, there's always headcanon. I have more fanon and tinhatty *hands over ears* LALALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU moments for this show than any of the other Treks. (Don't feel bad, Voyager, it means I was invested in you.)
