Yeah, they're totally missing what Karen's all about.
Did you know that, judging by Tumblr, most people think Karen was furious at her father after the purity ball because she wasn't getting that car?
And that she started listing all of her sexual experiences just to annoy and humiliate her father?

Thats so shallow! She obviously didnt want to humiliate her father, she tried to get out of listing her sexual experiences, and if it was just the car she wouldnt've flipped out in such a big way!
