I do see why people think of it when they think about yuri, but I don't think it should be classified as yuri. In general, it seems like yuri fans try to put anything with any elements of girls liking girls under the 'yuri' umbrella to try to broaden the scope of what's out there for them because, let's face it, yuri isn't nearly as common as yaoi/BL is. Buuut I don't think that's a good idea, really. If I'm really really in the mood to see something about two girls loving each other, I would be sorely disappointed by Rose of Versailles. Rose of Versailles is a great series, but if I want girl on girl lovin', this isn't the first place I'd look. Categorizing it as yuri would just confuse people.

And as a girl who likes girls [albeit in the bisexual kinda way] and is rather open about that, I somehow don't think I can be a "lesbiophobe".
