Go outside. You need it.

TL;DR leik woah. Can you summarize?

To sum up, for the tl;dr people: anon feels ashamed for writing m/m PWP

[identity profile] no-one-specific.livejournal.com 2011-04-06 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap. That is way too long. And the font was horrible.

But. I read the middle part. (Not even gonna try with the stuff on the outside). And I must say, that you're talking about a lot of different things. But that aside, you really shouldn't be ashamed. Try something new, and even if it is just for the hotness, there's nothing wrong with that. Write whatever comes to your head, even if it's bad, and even if you consider it to be offensive/shallow. Just write it. No one will shame you for that.

Sorry if I misunderstood, but holy damn, that was hard to read.

Maybe if anon wrote more m/m PWP she'd learn a few things about pithiness and immediacy. Jesus Christ.

My favorite part is the text on either side, like we're going to crane our heads/monitors for it.

I tried. I really, honestly tried. Couldn't do it, though.

You're great for reading that much. Also word.

I try to be patient with some TLDR secrets (because I have posted one once) but seriously wtf. (Plus of course as fairhearing said, the text on the side).

WHY DO YOU FEEL SO BAD ABOUT THIS just enjoy writing smut it's seriously not a big deal jesus christ

(Anonymous) 2011-04-06 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
For this disgusting looking secret, I want to hunt you down and beat you to death.

(Anonymous) 2011-04-06 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, come on? Isn't that a bit excessive...?

It took me a second to get this, but then I was like, "OOOOOOOOOH SHIT, THAT'S FABULOUS."

[identity profile] gershwhen.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
A+ times a million!

(Anonymous) 2011-04-07 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
This just looks so noble that a trumpet fanfare played in my head as I scrolled down.

[identity profile] hikari87.livejournal.com 2011-04-06 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
s...so...many...words...tiny, tiny words...But seriously, you didn't do anything bad and even by your own ridiculously stringent standards that you seem to think must apply to everything ever written, your fic has worth since it helped you understand your characters better, so I don't see how this is a problem. I can see being embarrassed, being as it IS smut and all, but stop hyperventilating over it, it's FINE. It's okay to write something silly just for the fun of it, and sex scenes in a story can actually be a very meaningful part of the plot/character development.

Man, I thought this was going to be a Hamlet secret.

[identity profile] iambic5.livejournal.com 2011-04-06 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Sigh.

(Anonymous) 2011-04-06 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
If being a pretentious ass is so central to your identity that loosening up gives you a mental breakdown, you really need to re-evaluate your priorities.

(Anonymous) 2011-04-06 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
time warp

(Anonymous) 2011-04-06 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I usually am not the type of person to think "TL;DR." And I usually get annoyed when I see lots of TL;DR comments.

But, my friend, with your overly verbose secret, you've finally brought me to that dreaded place. You've finally brought me to feel...TL;DR.

I'm sorry.

[identity profile] lesbido.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
You're over-thinking it.

[identity profile] duckfight.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear anon, you are adorable. Ignore all the people shouting tl;dr from the rafters. You put a Hamlet quote in a fandom secret. That's just precious.

Seriously though, there's no need to get all rambly & flustered about this kind of thing! You don't have to put your dirty writing online, just write it for yourself; & keep it for yourself if you're bothered about appearing to have sold out to your friends. I doubt anyone's masturbatory fantasies have a great deal of plot/characterisation! You just enjoy writing yours out, is all. A lot of people do! & it's good writing practice, because writing a good sex scene - one that doesn't make everything seem gross or slide into laughably purple prose - is damn hard. Just look at any Mills & Boon 'novel' - or don't, actually, you'll be sick.
