I think it's pretty sad that you think their humouring of Barbara (as I guess that's what you're referring to) was offensive in any way.
It's just comedy, mate.

I love Barbara. The one who always got on my nerves was Tish. But we were supposed to dislike Tish, because she was kind of terrible.

I love her, too. c: And yes, I agree, but Tish was just a hateable character altogether, mostly because she was so frighteningly accurate. There are faaar too many women like her out there.
(I still kind of love her? I don't think I am able to hate any character on this show.)

Hey, my favourite Locals are the demon butcher and the cursed vet. I'm not sure if I'm able to hate anyone from this show, either. XD

That said, I still wanted to punch Tish during the Drury Lane special. Even while I was laughing at her.

Ah, I have such a soft spot for Brissy and Mr Chinnery, too. And Ollie! He will always be my favourite.

Augh, yes, that scene was actually pretty sad. D: But I can't be angry at any character played by Steve, not even that guy who always says offensive things to disabled people, he's such an adorable little fluffball.

I really love Geoff, too. That guy is just psychosis incarnate. Goodness, I could go on all day, really.

I have no idea what he was called, I need to get my hands on this book where they're all listed.

And yes, Geoff. I just feel so sorry for him, but at the same time I can't help laughing at him because it's all just so hilarious. I think he's my second favourite character of them all.

I just love how every character, even the minor ones, has lots and lots of layers you don't even really notice the first time watching that go way beyond the comedy.

I think what does it (or doesn't, as the case may be) for me, is that I've known people like Tish, and I didn't much like them, either. I may have cheered when Gatiss' character (I don't even know his name) went off on her.

I misread the title, and all I could think of was, "You want to date someone from an Alan Moore comic? Really? W-Why?" Because The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is not filled with sane and well adjusted people.

I got all the seasons and wanted to watch just the one episode that day I got them. But then I watched another. Then another. And before I knew it, I had watch all of it, the whole show, in one go.

Good thing it wasn't a weekday.
