I don't know... People tend to ask why and think you're weird when you say you dislike something most people enjoy so sometimes it's easier to just lie so they won't ask questions.

I mean, in life in general. Not just in fandom. Although I'm not really active in fandom except to read/watch and review so I don't usually get into any discussions about what I like or dislike and if I do it's with people who I know respect my opinion even if it differs from theirs.

Why not just say that you don't ship anyone at all? In my opinion it's just so unnecessary to fell like you have to lie about something like that :/ I rarely ever ship any pairings either, but I don't care that everyone else does, and if they think I'm weird for not caring for romance and pairings, then fuck them.

Yes, this. A lack of interest in fictional representations of happy relationships, that's a preference, it means nothing. But when something as innocent and healthy as real people falling in love causes you such distress that it makes you physically ill, something has gone very wrong in your subconscious. Positive relationships aren't supposed to cause you pain, anon, and vice versa. Please don't resign yourself to this. It shouldn't and doesn't have to be this way. :(
