Fucking good for you, anon, seriously. That kind of shit is just appalling. Especially since in my personal experience? My close friends put almost everything aside to make sure I was okay when I lost animals; when my peacock died, my best friend rode her bike twenty miles to my house so she could comfort me, and that was on the same day that her dad got hit by a car. I did similar for her when she lost her snake. I can't imagine how furious I would have been if one of my friends had blown off my issues for something so ridiculously petty.

HAHA YES, I DID. I saved two eggs from an abandoned clutch, not really thinking they were alive, but it turned out that they both were. Noah's younger brother, Hari, died about a week after hatching, but I had Noah for almost a year before I had to take her back to the court, since it was illegal for me to keep her at my house [because my city sucks].

She was an amazing bird and I still miss her terribly; you wouldn't think peacocks would make such great pets, but they do, and I can't wait to actually move somewhere where I can have one again. She saw me as her mother and followed me around everywhere and slept in my bed every night, and believe it or not she was actually incredibly intelligent.
