Aw, hell, I love Power Girl and Nightcrawler. It's a fucking shame, really; I'm big time into comics, but always into the smaller ones that don't get the love, like JSA and Starman and 2000AD. (And where is my Barry/Hal porn? I was hoping now Barry was resurrected there'd be some interest, but no. It's a shame, too; I mean, their bromance is so epic Mark Waid wrote a 6-ep miniseries about it.)

But, er, have no fear, anon! Even if the characters you fall in love with are less loved by fandom, there'll be tons of canon. And if you love popular ones - like Batfamily characters or Iron Man or anyone from Young Justice - you'll have lots of new fun stuff to read.

(Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] math_camel, points for a Ponder Stibbons icon. I love that guy.)

Fandom is fickle about who it adores. Canon can also suck when a beloved character dies or just generally drops off the face of the multi-verse for a few years/decades but you can *always* count on more in-universe material. (for Marvel/DC at least, although many of the "independent" canons have been running for years and years).

Also, a movie is a great jumping on point because it also re-energizes the fandom and encourages the companies to re-release material that helps you get even deeper. At least it should, sometimes they drop the ball.

(I keep thinking I should pick a new icon that's less... amateur, but who could replace our Ponder?)
