I mean, you may not have the kids or the dream partner, but I think there are a lot of benefits to not having those things. For example, whatever money you make can be spent on you, rather than the kids. If you wanted to take a holiday, finances permitting, you could do it. Also, I doubt it's possible to sleep in or have those lazy afternoons when you do absolutely nothing when you have small kids to worry about.
I don't think you would have any reason not to be proud of the choices you've made and of where you are in your life. It might be different to what your friends have done, but that doesn't make it worse :)
