Also, in general defense, if you find a religious Jewish boy/man in the general media world today to crush on, let me know. As it is now, that's what girls who have TV's watch and so that's what they want when they go out and start dating themselves.
Jewish guys (as well as Jewish girls) want something 'exotic' and different and not pasty-white.
Which is why I married an Israeli ;-)

Speaking of: there are some damn fine members of the Tribe out there. (http://kita0610.livejournal.com/690520.html) ;-)

Amazingly, not only do I know who nearly every person on that list is (excepting Sirat Sabahat and Michael Landon) I also agree with every person's placement on it.
That being said, with the exception of John Stewart, Scott Caan and Michael Rosenbaum, none of these men are 'on TV'; they're all movie actors. And John Stewart is on cable and Micahel Rosenbaum has only just come back to TV (and on one of the more brain-dead shows I have seen in a long time). So we're down to Scott Caan as the only Jewish man on TV?
This needs to be remedied. Time to make a stink about there not being enough Jews in TV

I think most of the women are on TV, and Oded Fehr actually does a lot of television (he was on "Charmed," had the lead in two shows I'm proud to own on VHS- "UC: Undercover" and "Presidio Med"-, was in the pilot of "Law & Order: Los Angeles" last fall, and had a recurring role on "V" this season as an ex-Mossad [a crush- I has it; in case you couldn't tell *g*]), and I know a couple of the aforementioned people in the comments were/are on TV as well. But otherwise, yes, you make a fairly compelling point.
The only other TV Jew I can think of at the moment (who's male and hot) is Daren Kagasoff (who even plays a Jewish character who is lusted after by pretty much every girl he meets and has an Israeli father), and...I usually can't mention that, because he's on one of my pathetic guilty pleasure shows I can't publicly admit to watching.
I agree. Clearly, something needs to be done about this. I wonder what my rabbi would think if I tried to put together a youth theatre group for the kids in my daughter's yeshiva? (One of them could grow up to be on TV, you never know!)

...still not very many, alas. ::sigh:: I tried!
*One of my chief wonks is not only a dearth of Jewish actors on TV, but also the startling lack of Jewish characters, particularly on shows where you'd really expect them to be there. How is Manhattan so Jew-less on television?
