I guess you'd like me then, OP? Well, if I was a fictional character at least. Patsy's my idol, I don't see any shame in liking her and her drunken ways. You should only feel sorry for liking the characters you mentioned (who you mainly enjoy because they abuse alcohol?) if it's in conflict with your morals. I don't have such strong morals, so I don't really care if I'm setting a bad example or not.

have you tried going to an aa meeting? contrary to what that douchebag charlie sheen says, they are not a cult or a club. it's free and might help you to cope better with your problem :)it helped me become sober and i haven't touched alcohol in 6 months now.

Although I maintain someone is seriously letting the side down if that is true, but it probably doesn't take into account the shoplifted booze, just over the counter sales.

OP here. I love that programme, Bernard Black is basically my ideal man - I think largely because of the drinking and smoking (and the accent).

Play it up for laughs or downplay it? Tony Stark? That stuff was melodramatically milked as long as they could manage in Iron Man, and they STILL drag it out every so often as a Very Special Topic.

Keep in mind, my only real exposure to Iron Man is Robert Downey Jr. and that Robot Chicken sketch. RC didn't mention the alcohol at all, but did manage to make him look like more of a douche than RDJ. But then RDJ can play a white Australian man assuming a stereotypical black man's role and be completely charming.

I am aware he is more of an abusive asshole in the comics, but that's just another reason why I've always avoided them.

To me whether this is healthy or not depends on whether you mean they make you feel better about yourself as in "well, now I don't feel bad that I drink so much," or "now I'm less ashamed to admit that I have a problem." There's a pretty big difference.

OP here! It's more "well, now I don't feel bad that I drink so much". I know that they are fictional characters but some irrational corner of my brain tells me that it's okay for me to be doing it if they are, and its not really so bad. I relate to Bree most out of these three :(
