That's an awfully dangerous way to open a can. Not to mention a waste of time. Just... buy a new can opener.

(j/k, j/k, you know I like you :))

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree. I'm imagining gruesome scenarios in which OP strikes the can at the wrong angle and the tip of the knife breaks off and lodges in OP's eye.

I can't lie, this made me laugh till my collarbone hurt. I think it's the expression on Hiccup's face there. Just... oh God it is so funny kfjflkjk

also please save in png form next time, it took me quite a while to figure out what it said

[identity profile] tameable.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Not the best way to open a can, but definitely the most amusing I've ever heard :)

[identity profile] llrael.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I lol'd out loud at the idea of you in the kitchen yelling "I AM A VIKING!".

Srsly though, buy a new can opener.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hard to read, but still adorable.

Okay, I can't be the only one who thought this was impossible to read

[identity profile] yvw.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Not "hard to read" but impossible. Don't we have a fail bar for that?

Re: Okay, I can't be the only one who thought this was impossible to read

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If it were impossible to read, then surely people wouldn't be commenting on what it says? Because they wouldn't, you know, have been able to read it...

[identity profile] laurelin-kit.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Take up a martial art, buy a new can opener and quit ruining your knives.

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
My can opener is slowly dying, and this is giving me incredibly potentially dangerous ideas. A roommate might soon be taking me to the ER.

[identity profile] chickenperson52.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
tbh this is how i open a lot of things. not cans, but like jars of pasta sauce and such.

OP, your secret has validated me.

(at least keep your eyes open, for your own safety)

[identity profile] mizzuks.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's, ah, rather hard to read OP, but still, nice.

[identity profile] heretherebefic.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I did that once when I couldn't find the can opener and the only thing I could find to eat was a can of baked beans. I felt ridiculously proud of myself and nearly strangled my cat when she tried to get at the plate after all that work.

ha!

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
this made me smile really big! :)

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You best learn how to efficiently apply a tourniquet, anon.

You know, I've done a lot of stupid things for my fandoms, but at least none have had the possibility to maim my person.

(Anonymous) 2011-04-13 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
This is great! I've been opening my cans the same way. I'll yell that in your honor tonight.

[identity profile] eibborn.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You are so cute.

[identity profile] cloud-riven.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You have the qualities I look for in a potential mate. So badass

also learn to do that properly and don't get hurt

[identity profile] dark-kaomi.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
While that's kind of badass, I have a way for you to feel more like a Viking while cooking that doesn't have quite as much risk to life and limb. Watch these: http://www.youtube.com/user/SwedishMealTime

THANK YOU FOR LINKING THIS. OH GOD I WILL NEVER STOP LAUGHING AT THESE VIDEOS.

This secret made me chuckle for two reasons. One, it's really dangerous but still so amusing. And two, when I lived in the Philippines as a kid this was the ONLY way people opened cans and I nostalgia'd.

[identity profile] invisible-kris.livejournal.com 2011-04-14 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
The sentiment behind it is cute, but it's not that great for your knife. =P
