Hey. OP. Let me tell you. I've been like that since I was 4. Like, seriously. I've loved the serious, intense torture of characters, although just being sick/etc. is pretty cool as well. (Not in real life-- I'm talking in fandom only, of course, never irl). But seriously, there's nothing wrong. I love whumping my favourite male characters. (Always the male ones.) But seriously, no shame, OP!

No kidding. It's so weird to come across books or movies or TV episodes I loved when I was a kid or teen, and review my favourite scenes that made me feel all emotionally tingly all over back then, and then go "... Ooops. Looks like my whumping kink was already showing very strongly O.o " (And just like for you, it has always been about male characters only...)

Possibly, but you're DEFINITELY not alone. I was so very, very relieved the day I found spnstoryfinders and realized that my kinks are so not that weird. And I'm quite sure that applies to all fandoms. ;)

I pretty sure there's a genre for this called H/C. Many times people don't even put the comfort at all, they just bring their character to the point of death. You're pretty fandom normal actually.

Yeah, my favorite episodes are usually when a previously unshakable character is shaken/falls sick/gets drunk etc. Or at least they are if it's a rare occurrence; if it gets done too much it loses its charm.
