That's probably it, the whole pity thing, plus a lot of the fangirls think he's hot (I haven't even played Black or White and I'm fangirling over him). I know what I liked when I first him was his outfit.

Oh, yeah. He's definitely one of the prettiest and most sympathetic opponents yet in the series, I'm just pointing out how creepy it is to be a romantic fan of someone who is so badly... "sheltered", I guess. Someone whose total ignorance about everything is such a huge plot point.
