I'm okay with it on the rec pages themselves, but whenever I read a trope's page and see a Fanwork section, I always groan. Self-promotion is fine within certain boundaries, but going on and on about your fic like anybody else's supposed to have any idea what you're talking about is both lame and annoying. There really ought to be a rule prohibiting that.
