Not exactly on topic, but aren't all lynchings open, anon? The point of a lynching is that it's mob justice. There's gonna be a mob there, and it's probably gonna be somewhere with a tree.

Also, why would you chose such a racially charged term for your anger at a show about ponies?

Well, apparently the show is a spawning ground for racism on account of featuring a racist zebra pony or something.

Words never have more than one meaning. And it's obviously wrong to use slang on the internet.

Guess people like you are why their speech sounds so stilted on Star Trek shows. It's after you've stamped out all non-literal expressions.

This isn't Frindle, anon.
And I'm not pointing out that it is not a literal lynching. I am at peace with metaphor, allusion, simile, and most other literary techniques!

The issue is that lynch is a word almost exclusively associated with hate speech. Pony fans have not enslaved your ancestors for generations, they are not keeping you from voting or holding well paying jobs, and the aren't going to hang you by the neck until you suffocate or it snaps because you've dared to speak against them. After they do so they are not going to start a cottage industry where they sell postcards of your broken body.

It's my same issue where everything is compared with a deadly seriousness to Nazi Germany. No, your professor isn't goddamn Himmler because she fails you if you don't turn your essay in on time. She's just strict.
