First: Porn on FF.net -- LOL.

Second: It's probably because without the porn spicing things up your writing is boring. Find someone who you trust to read through your non-porn fics who can help you figure out what's going wrong with your non-porn.

Third: Porn isn't bad just because it's porn. A lot of people only read fanfic because that's where they can find the kinks they like written in a way they like. Mainstream erotica tends to be very male oriented and with few exceptions romance novels are pretty tame/het based.

Fourth: It's not a case of non-porn fics not having a chance. My most popular fics are all plotfics with few if any sex scenes. People like a riveting story.
