And you're so sure in your moral position that you attach your username to it, I see. *sporfle*

I thought not. Conviction, you have none. Not really.

I have plenty of conviction, douchenozzle. I post RPF in my main journal and under my regular username, I'm not ashamed at all. The reason I'm posting anon here is the same reason I post every comment anon in f_s — this is a panfandom community and I'm avoiding three specific creepy stalkers from my past fandoms.

I'm sure you'd rather sit up there on your moral high horse and not believe me, but bzzzt. You're wrong. Sorry.

Yeah, you can pretty much make up any reason not to attach a name. Like I'd believe someone who writes fiction about real people! LOL

Uh, here. RPFer who has a name attached.

There are published RPF stories when the subjects are still alive. In fact, there was a whole lot of Obama RPF when he was just elected. He met Spiderman, and Ash Williams, and apparently saved the USA from a zombie holocaust, just from what I remember. And his dog is part of the Pet Avengers.

Seriously, it's not a big deal. You don't like it, fine. But that doesn't make it automatically wrong. (As long as the writer is not a delusional psycho who thinks that what he/she is writing is real)

Hey, fabulous! Thanks for the bulletin. I won't bother getting the facts next time I write a news article about someone. I'll just make up who I think they boink or what they spend of tax dollars and how I wanted it to have happened. My readers shouldn't mind and neither should the subjects, since it's perfectly OK. I've wasted so much of my career doing research and hiring lawyers the couple of times someone took issue with the actually verifiable thing I wrote about them. It's good to know it was for nothing!

[identity profile] luxshine.livejournal.com 2011-04-14 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, what? Who's talking about news articles? I'm talking about *stories*, like President Evil (http://www.amazon.com/President-Evil-Scream-Pocket-Manga/dp/0984487913/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302796569&sr=8-2), and Army of Darkness: Ash saves Obama (http://www.amazon.com/Army-Darkness-Ash-Saves-Obama/dp/1606901087), which are obviously not meant to be believed as true, just like almost all the RPF you can find on the internet (Barring the tinhats, but there are tinhats outside the rpf fandom too).

News articles, on the other hand, aren't RPF, and should be completely verified. It's apples and oranges. As someone below said, yes, there are magazines who will publish speculation, but I'm going to guess you don't work for those.
