Well, sex is subjective rather than art. Art you can tell that the proportions, and perspective can be wrong from a simple glance. Sex? Well, person A finds X enjoyable but not Y, while person B feels that Y brings them to climax. Also, there are people out there who do not have any emotional investment when having sex with some partners, but the majority of people do have some emotional connection. It's varied, and good porn varies too.

Also, I think people who like/tend to read horror/torture would probably know some google-fu knowledge of it or at least have some comparison in order to proclaim a certain author good at it.

I feel like I'm rambling, so I'm sorry about that. However, I think you brought up some good points, that I didn't think of!
