But I felt that they engineered the episode in a way that i also catered a more mature audience - the one that followed from the very beginning.

And finding jokes, meanings where I knew I got them and the kids next to me didn't just really pleased me.

I had no idea there actually WAS a fandom for this show, apart from the one guy over at TVTropes who liked to make every topic of conversation about Norm the Genie.

It kind of makes me happy, since it makes the ridiculous things I squee over (*cough*MyLittlePony) seem kind of normal in comparison. Go you, OP.

...I can't decide whether to take that as a compliment or an insult, but either way, it's not quite like that. TV Tropes is actually where the "fandom" in question takes place; more specifically, the WMG, JBM, and Fanon Discontinuity/Western Animation pages are rife with complaints about Wishology, but they're mostly non-elaborated "this sucks" comments.

I'm not sure what that was, either? A... complisult? An insiment? Kidding, though. I didn't mean to say something like this shouldn't have a fandom or you shouldn't like it, even though I don't really understand what's special about the show myself.

I waste way too much time over at TVTropes myself, but I've never really seen the Fairly Oddparents stuff except for this one guy who used to apply all the tropes to Norm the Genie over at You Know That Thing Where. Just like... every suggested trope was somehow relevant to Norm the Genie (at least in some fanfic universe or other). I think he calmed down about it a little by now, but the Norm the Genie troper kind of made me happy.
