To me, part of the game's appeal is that it's tongue in cheek. Yes, it's sexist, but that's part of the point of the character, isn't it?

I have never played the games, but I feel like one should probably think carefully on the merit of something in which sexism is the point of a character/franchise.

In this case, Duke Nukem seems like a parody of similar games with an ultra-macho protagonist who gets all the ladies or whatever

Duke Nukem is basically the game equivalent of McBain from the Simpsons. He's a parody of the old 80s and 90s action movies with their uber-macho heroes and overtly scantily-clad heroines. So yeah, it's all just silly fun.

You should read up on some of it, the CEO interviews make for some hilarious reading. They're trying to play it off as a parody or some critique of overly sexist games, but really it's just bullshit.
