Just out of curiosity, have you seen the original? With Olivia Hussey and a pre-Superman Margot Kidder. Also, it's directed by Bob Clark, who also directed A Christmas Story.

I'm going to be honest with you. I adore the remake of Black Christmas. At first it was only for shallow reasons (oh, hi, Katie Cassidy! Have I mentioned that I think I love you? ...Your dad should totally get that reference, by the way) but the more I watched it...the more I liked it. It wasn't particularly amazing or anything and you can only expect so much from a remake of a movie that wasn't great in the first place but I guess I...learned to appreciate it for what it is. It has flaws, but I love it. Now I love both versions.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is: Yeah! Black Christmas FTW!

that's the remake, right? I've only seen the original, and tbh I didn't think much of it. =/ (it TERRIFIED my mom in the 70's, but I spent the whole thing waiting...for..the terror? I DUNNO)
