I liked him as Wesker! The last movie was my favourite so far, mostly because Alice wasn't a godmode mary sue but she still has a way to go before growing on me. You're entirely right though that the plot of RE is pretty goofy as-is and it gets taken way too seriously.

I love the games, but I like the movies, too! Well... with the exception of the second one. I didn't like that one at all. But I adored the fact that the most recent film pandered heavily to the game fans. I can't WAIT for the next one!

Considering the material he was given, I thought he did a great job of portraying Wesker. He was clearly having fun with the role and he made the movie watchable imo.

I was uncertain of him until it got to this:

Plus they recreated the Wesker vs Chris and Sheva fight and that was just amazing. Every other part of the movie I didn't care for, but Wesker was fab when they gave him the chance.

I agree with everything you're saying, anon. (WTF... the fandom thinks he's fat... seriously?... Clearly they are blind). I actually think Movieverse!Wesker was awesome. Okay, so his accent was a bit all-over-the-place, but that was actually kinda adorable. Sure, he's not the exact same Wesker as in the games... but seeing as the plots of the movies started out on their own canon, then that's perfectly believable. Plus, like you said, the cheesy humour has always been there, so why not let the actors have some fun with their parts?

Geez... elitists... what can ya do with 'em?

P.S. Also looking forward to the next movie installment.
