Greeks? Not so much. You mean the Romans? And even then it wasn't a case of fight to the death when children were involved.

No, I specifically referring to a Greek myth. King Minos, Crete, punishing the Athenians by having them select and send kids to the Minotaur to be eaten. Unless you know of a similar Roman one.

And while it isn't fighting to death exactly (because they all die in the myth, no one gets to live), they all sample the idea of children being selected for death by the powers that be as punishment (and to instill fear) for their respective society's actions.

You mentioned specifically for sport, though and kids killing kids, neither of which is happening in that Greek myth.
