I'm sayin'!! How can a song with lines like "you were totally pwned" be so heartbreaking?! I never even really cared about Severus/Lily all that much, but when he's all "Wait, I'm sorryyyyy!" I just get all wibbly. WTF, JOE MOSES.

IA with this comment. I hadn't cared about Severus/Lily either... Well, a little, since that was the basis of why he ended up completely on Dumbledore's side, but it was a very far-off sort of caring, like "oh, ok, that's sad." But Joe's portrayal of his unrequited love actually made me feel for the character, like, surprisingly so. I maintain that the Mudblood comment was still horrible and was beyond uncalled for, but seeing how vulnerable Snape was before the moment and therefore lashing out as a last resort, gave me deeper insight into what was going on in his head.

(sorry for the paragraph; I have a lot of ~feelings about that number. The way Lucius pulls off Snape's cloak to reveal his uniform and Joe's got that look on his face, like he really is an insecure teen, still gets me every time I see it.)

Ha ha, no, I totally know what you mean! That whole story (not to mention Snape's whole character, in many ways) has been sorta cockblocked in the movies, so it was really effective to see it in the musicals. And it always kinda gets me the way he drops the 'accent' when he says the line; it somehow makes it a little more honest and poignant; IDK why. It doesn't hurt that Tyler(?) and Joe sound aaaaaaawesome together either. <3 SUCH LOVE
