It was a story told from the POV of an undereducated kid. If her grammar was prefect, it would destroy the tone of the book.

dude, i'm not asking for perfect grammar. i doubt any author of fiction can crank out perfect grammar, anyway, probably gets in the way of creativity and craft. but it honestly wouldn't have killed her to clean up the typos and maybe utilize the past tense or the third person. call it ~art~, but the way the author chose to do the pov ended up effectively 'destroying the tone of the book'.

I tottaly get where you're coming from, but I found myself struggling to read it because it was so dry. I also wasn't even fond of this educated kid, so, that was another issue in itself, haha. Everybody told me how fantastic the book was, so I was really let down when it just wasn't... all that great.
