1. FUCKING YES. Plus hating on non-existent/fictional characters is dumb. Hime isn't a character who pulls giant swords out and hacks her enemies to pieces but she's strong in a different way, it's just at the moment, she's conflicted with what she wants to do, what she can do and what she can't do.

She wasn't my favorite character until the end of the SS Arc. She developed so much in the time between the first Arrancar arc until her departure for Hueco Mundo and you know what? That takes guts. Her friends were in danger and the fact she didn't hesitate to say no to Ulquiorra shows she's not as "OMG LAME" as people would think. Chad, Rukia, Ichigo and Ishida (OKAY I DON'T KNOW ABOUT HIM LOL) would have done the same.

Oh, lol, I don't find her perfect because she does have flaws but that's what makes me like her and other Bleach characters more.

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Word! She has flaws and I can see why people wouldn't have her as a fave or be interested in her, but she doesn't really do anything to be hated or disliked. But then again being a really kind girl makes you a SUE. So does having a crush. So does...well, doing anything and being female basically makes you a Sue in fandom's eyes.

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Also, lol, I'd like to add that Ichigo bores me and I think Orihime and rukia are too good for him and should run off together lolz

Or Orihime can just run off with Rangiku ;)

1. I'm not much of a Bleach fan, but I love Orihime ♥

6. You stole my secret D= They were adorable, once.

9. 10K COMMOTION!!!!! I love that webcomic SO MUCH. :D Her art/colouring style's so unique - I adore the sketchiness.

I'm always so happy when she updates. :D

I love her, and it makes me so sad and embarrassed to see how she gets so much hatred from my side of fandom. That's one of the reasons why when it comes to Bleach I keep just to myself.

(Anonymous) 2007-06-08 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, no. D:

[identity profile] forgedmemories.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Try here (http://rapidsearch.yi.org/?s=Kodomo+no+Jikan). 4chan has been all over it, so there should be the first few chapters scanlated there, somewhere. The rest are raw.

1. Orihime is a very very nice person and I would like to have her as a friend but she is not the perfect woman unless you believe that women should passively allow others to take advantage of them. She's gotten better at that I admit, has developed more of a spine and I expect that she will continue to grow as a character during the present arc. She certainly is a much more interesting character now than she was originally.

5. Uh...because it hasn't happened to them? What annoys me is the large amount of fics where someone female or male gets raped and then promptly falls in love with their rapist. From purely a writer's point of view that plot has been overdone so much that it has become a cliche.

11. Oh calm down. Using the word crack for rock cocaine is a slang term as well. Should we all get upset at you for using it?

12. When I first joined LJ I wanted a name associated with Final Fantasy VII but everything I thought of was already taken until I finally hit upon the one I have now. It's not the best but oh well. So no I don't find you pathetic in the least.

I agree, and yet I don't. I do miss when they were innocent, but at the same time I think that's what screwed them up: being marketed as circus animals. "See twins dance! See twins sing! See twins make 187 movies in which they keep their first names but aren't themselves! See twins never star in a movie without the other!"

... yeah, no wonder they became screwed up. So in conclusion: I wish that someone had, at least, stepped in and mentioned that they are human beings, not one person in two bodies. Drugs and drinkng is an effect of Hollywood Biz, yes, but it's also a result of losing one's identity. Yeah.

11 I used to feel the same way, but now I don't give a fuck. Sorry, Anonymous.

1. I can't stand charas with her personality. I don't like it with real people as well. If you want an example of perfect woman, in my opinion of course, in anime, well, that's Cornelia from Code Geass.
I respect stronger woman much, much more.
But I think it's just a matter of opinions, I can see why people like her, but as someone who can't stand her, I understand those who hate her.
Oh, and just to add my opinion again, I think hating a chara is perfectly normal just as much as loving them. Why is it that if you like one, it's ok, and if you hate one, you're retarded? Come on people, it's all about paaaassion. If you feel passion towards a show, it's just obvious you'll end up loving and hating things in it. Nothing really strange...

RukiHime FTW.

[identity profile] luisa-f.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Cornelia ♥.

[identity profile] halevy.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
And also, for some reason, liking a soft-spoken, optimistic and kind female character makes her fans dumbasses and people who "don't know what true female power is".
karel: (guy cecil; wash away our bad luck)

[personal profile] karel 2007-06-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
1. Honestly, I'm not very much into the Bleach fandom, but I love her as a character. She's very sweet and caring towards her friends but she also packs a punch!

4. I did. But I never posted it. XD

5. Because it's like saying hello in anime! Don't you know? (srsly, though, with you. Rape = not cool. Plot element? Sure. But don't go and try to make it all okay because character Y enjoyed it.

7. LUXANNE~ ♥ Citrus is that you?

11. Oh jeez. Another terminology rant. Live and let live, people.

12. Don't do it. You'll move on to another fandom and wish you hadn't. Though... things that apply to a large group of fandoms or fandom in general should be okay.
karel: (guy cecil; but it'll get you through)

Oh and 9

[personal profile] karel 2007-06-08 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
9. OH MY GOSH 10K~ :DDD (is a total DDR freak and LOVES the comic)

[identity profile] dreaming-faerie.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
8. ...Who are you and why do you have my secret? :P Although I think we'd come up with some awesome discussions.

I miss Sally. I even cosplayed her for when I was younger in school.

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
3. That's.... part of why I got into psychology/social work. *shot* xD Seriously! now to get the money to go back for my master's...

5. YES THANK YOU. Dear God. Coercion isn't consent. Really. And while erection can occur in males being raped, it honestly doesn't take much at all to get a guy up. :P Purely physical response. So is ejaculation. Neither actually imply enjoyment except in the minds of the uneducated and idiot fangirls. Gah.

[identity profile] cephiedvariable.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
8. O-Omg. I could have written this secret.

Except that I didn't.

EXCEPT THAT WE ARE NOW SISTERS, OKAY.

[identity profile] kyaa.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
1. Hime is adorable. (Personally I didn't like how they gave her the typical high-pitched voice in the anime, buuuut) She's sweet and goofy and just because she doesn't physically kick ass and take names people think she's weak. :( BECAUSE WHAT BELT LEVEL YOU ARE IN KARATE CLEARLY EQUALS YOUR STRENGTH OF CHARACTER.

6. I think it's hilarious that they look like hobos now.

[identity profile] sevendials.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not in this fandom, but--

To me, part of the problem appears to be that a worryingly large number of fans appear to think that a 'strong, self-actualized woman' means one who is a bossy, casually physically abusive, misandrist uberbitch with anger management issues who nobody in their right mind would want to talk to, let alone spend any time with. Just check out the number of supposedly fiercely independent OFCs who act exactly like this and yet are praised by all comers, as well as by their authors, for being strong, independent women. Um, no. There's more than one kind of strength, and there's a big difference between being a strong person and being a bully.

Incidentally, I'm really getting sick of fans casually assuming that friendly, optimistic characters (of either gender, though the girls come in for far more flak than the boys do) are automatically idiots or doormats or both simply because they're friendly and generally inclined to look on the bright side. As if fandom didn't have enough antisocial walking wangst factories as it is!
