(Anonymous) 2011-04-20 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)There is, at least in my mind, the clear distinction that this probably won't get written and if it does it might not go in the direction you were expecting, not even a little bit. But it might shake loose an idea for the writer, something to make them get super excited. And that's awesome, right? Like, that's a good thing?
And uh, no. I really don't think that less than four prompts a day is excessive and I certaily don't think it's "selfish". Is there some kind of rule that there's only allowed to be so many promts per person or per day or something that I don't know about? I mean, fuck, don't most kink memes end up with thousands of prompts?

(Anonymous) 2011-04-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)most kink memes end up with thousands of prompts and not nearly as many fills. a lot of kink memes freeze requests until some of the old ones are completed if the number becomes way uneven. if your requests are making up 50% of those ones that are backed up and blocking other people's then yes, that's pretty damn selfish.

i dunno about that. i know many people who see kink memes just like anon explained above: a place to leave prompts for writers to maybe get excited about. nothing more than that.
