Why does it feel like such a dirty thing sometimes to be really into characters with the most screentime? :/

It does feel like a lot of fandoms resent something about it.

Because the main characters are EVOL OMG!! They steal all the attention away from the OMG SO MUCH COOLER WONDERFUL CHARACTERS WHO MAY OR MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE MORE INTERESTING THAN THE MAIN ONES and anyone who likes them is a BIG DUMB SHALLOW NEWBIE!
