it's a batshit insane web... media thing (I hesitate to call it a comic anymore. More like... semi-interactive visual novel? With animated, interactive cutscenes and musical interludes?) about four kids who play a videogame that turns out to be a horrific world-ending deathtrap that they were predestined to play all along.

It's very difficult to get into at first because the comic doesn't hit its stride till about halfway through Act 2; also, your mileage may vary a LOT. If you like batshit insane bullshit that makes you want to throw chairs through windows because GOD DAMN IT THAT FUCKING PLOT TWIST, you will probably become horrifyingly addicted and stare at the pages waiting for an update. If that aint yo thang, you will hate the fandom for existing and want to set random passerby on fire on the off chance that they have read the comic.



(for the record: I for one enjoy batshit insane bullshit, so this comic is now my heroin :| But I also understand why some people hate it to death.)

Thank you for explaining the basic plot. I've been quite lost. Now I want to start reading, but I'm afraid...

it will start slow - you'll read a few pages a day

going "oh man kids and fun"

"this comic sure is cute"

and then slowly you'll read more

and more

hours will pass in front of your monitor, your face lit only by its dim glow

you will find yourself saying phrases like "let's do this, let's make it happen" and "motherfucking miracles"

you will find even if you are not a shipper that you are abruptly making little charts of everyone's relationships

slowly you will meander to the boards, or the chans, or tumblr

and you will begin to look at fanart

and read fanfiction





and then you will realize as you go further in that no longer are there kids and fun

no

people are dying

in swaths

in droves

and you cannot leave your computer

your eyes are fixated on the screen and you long to tear yourself away from the carnage

but you cannot

the virus has taken hold


and you are
