I tend to start seeing the same title crop up in all my favorite tropes and even though I don't know what it is about but I start to recognize the name and then one day I check it out and I'm doomed to a new fannish interest.

That tends to happen to me with shows/books that don't look interesting at first. They'll pop up, I'll go "meh... maybe later" and then they'll keep. Popping. Up.

(I only noticed your Ponder Stibbons icon after my first reply, and then it was just an excuse to break out my Susan icons.)

The risk is that they've got a huge (or highly devoted) fan base who log every instance of EVERYTHING so that thing you wanted to see more of is really just hinted at in the supplementary materials. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but I remember feeling pretty let down several times over this.
