I love both of them. US!Michelle was the absolute only character that I really liked in the US version though, so I tend to sound more enthusiastic about her in discussions because in comparison to the others in the US version she's wonderful.

But I do think that UK!Michelle is pretty underrated and that makes me sad :(

I really don't know what to say about this since I've only seen two eps of US!Skins. And Gen 1 was all about Tony, Effy and Cassie for me (yeah, yeah annoying typical Skins stan, I know). I liked UK!Michelle but I wasn't over the moon about her either, so idk...

They're both gorgeous though, imo.

Fandoms tend to be very shallow, and US!Michelle had a lot of stans before the series started just because of how she looked. Michelle was my favorite character of gen1 (meh, I never got the Cassie-hype) and the more love the better.

But I think it's because her storyline is one of the most interesting and the acting, although not that stellar, is remarkably better than the acting done by the others in the group.

US!Michelle is beautiful whereas UK!Michelle is average at best. I never believed UK!Michelle could be the most popular girl like she was supposed to. She was slutty alright, but empty otherwise...

A lot of the time popularity isn't based on looks.

Heck, the most popular girls at my school were average in looks at best. But their personalities were manipulative, so everyone listened to them. They were like Mean Girls x100.

yeah cuz your personal experience in school is totally everyone else's too.

if we're playing that game at MY school all the popular girls were above average to drop dead gorgeous. none of them were below average at all. they were pretty and that's the first thing you need to be noticed in the first place both by the popular boys and other popular girls. just that the gorgeous girls were normally nice but dumb as rocks and were popular cuz they were really hot, fucked everyone and got drunk on smirnoff ices at lunch. the just good looking popular girls were the manipulative type yeah but if you're average or less than that noone gave a shit if you were manipulative or not. you're just a weird rude bitch to them then. not popular. unless you happened to be friends with one of the popular crowd before high school and before whatever popular chick you knew got boobs and realized she was hot shit.
i guess you just went to an all round ugly school cuz the popular girls are always better looking than the norm.

also uk michelle was pretty and wasn't manipulative at all so i don't know how your comment applies. she was manipulated. kind of different yeah.


but for the anon before you, uk michelle was popular in college cuz she was pretty AND more importantly tony was mega popular... more than on her own merits or whatever. her whole deal was that she was dependent on tony and totally insecure & manipulated yeah. wasn't that the point? and that's why she had a meltdown when that sham fell apart. us michelle was just a majorly hot dumbass. typical.
