Whoah, the fandom for Fushigi Yuugi died? I feel old. I just sort of figured that was one of those things that would be around forever, like Evangelion fandom or Ranma fandom, or Sailor Moon. These are all such big names in anime, at least in the US.

But then, I guess there's so much more out there now to see. Here's where I'm going to sound REALLY old, but kids these days don't understand there were a limited amount of series US fans could see back in the 90's. If you wanted more, you had to go through a fansubber and send money orders. Digital releases of anime have made it so much easier.

Also, and this will make me sound really, REALLY old, but besides Fushigi Yuugi, I still think of almost all of those series you wrote as 'newer'. Why? Because they became big after I was an adult who had become less of an anime fanatic, so they're all series I consider the 'younger kids' reading/watching. The shows for the generation after mine. I mean heck, I was in college when GetBackers came out - my room-mate was bonkers into it at the time.

The concept that these are now 'old' series with 'old' fandoms sort of blows my mind.
