Strike Witches kind of fits into the rainbow harem thing though. Their vaginas spent more time on the screen than the girls. Might as well be called Strike Crotches.

The difference with Strike Witches is the quality of the character development, I think. Rainbow harems usually have pretty shitty characters with only one likable one that hardly gets any screentime, while Strike Witches introduces characters, their flaws and their admirable traits, then gives them a problem to overcome and develop their character in the process.

I can ignore the fanservice because after watching the anime of Seikon no Qwaser WHICH IS SO ABSOLUTELY AWFUL IT'S HILARIOUS, the amount in comparison is almost like Pokemon.
