I didn't mind robo!Sam, but I hated how easy it was for Sam to suddenly be out of Hell again. He fell into Hell mid-way through last season's finale, then was back again at the end of the episode. It was...too sudden. Two seasons of build-up, and the apocalypse ended up feeling so rushed when it finally happened.

Lucifer and Michael will presumably never appear in the show again. It's as though the slate has been wiped clean. So yeah, it would have been nice if there were some lingering after-effects of the apocalypse. Lucifer possessing Sam to get out of Hell would have been cool (and would bring up the question as to why he had spent a year hunting instead of re-attemtping to destroy the human race.)
