I imagine it'd be wonderful to travel and help people, and endlessly fascinating to study the Mushi themselves; but I'd be worried about the possible danger of succumbing to one of them.

There would be some serious drawbacks. Maybe you'd attract them and have to stay on the move, like Ginko, unable to set up roots or keep relationships for too long.

But maybe a real life equivalent would be the study of insects/plant-life or something.
