Tamers was generally the series everybody either loved or hated; there wasn't a lot of middle ground. When it first aired I was immediately put off because it pulled the whole "it was all a game" thing with the first two seasons, which even then was a pet-peeve of mine in terms of story telling.

Frontier I loved because it had all the spirit of the first two seasons, and it felt like the series really grew up with its viewers at that point. It did a lot of things differently, but it kept true to the original...vibe of the series. It was also a whole lot more depressing/dark/mature; definitely made for an older(ish) audience.

I've seen some (read: like, three episodes) of Tamers -- I think my main problem was that it came on just as I moved across the country, and I just felt so betrayed by the lack of giant hair. A friend of mine was watching Frontier a little while ago and it made me want to see it myself but uuuugh buried in fandoms already. Still. Digimon.

Hahaha, yeah, well the goggle-boy of Frontier didn't have huge hair either, but he made up for it. XD That, and honestly, I think Tamers took the whole "the internet is magical" thing so much farther than either Adventure or 02, and that was a turn off for me as well. (Which, if you think about it is really saying something. According to Digimon, the internet really is a magical series of tubes.)

I flit in and out of fandoms so quickly anymore. Most of my fandom friends come from RPs I've been part of or are part of currently. There are fandoms I'll always come back to, and Digimon is definitely one of them. <3
