So sorry for the late reply! LJ notifications muck up for me sometimes.

Hey there! :D As far as I know, I'm not you, though I don't know enough about the multiverse theory and/or theoretical... physics? maybe? to be sure. I'm fairly sure I'm me, though, at least most days.

How close is 'close by Canadian standards'? :P I'm only too aware we've got a tiny little island over here, and any good Canadian would likely think nothing of driving from one end of the country to the other, longwise, for a day trip. :P ... actually, some days I consider doing that, for the sheer hell.

I'd never heard of Girls Next Door, but I'll take a look -- thanks for the rec :D

And I hope your Stephen Fry talking alarm clock has arrived in the disgustingly long time between your comment and my response! :P

Oh man I suck. XD I've had this marked as unread in my inbox FOREVER as a reminder to reply, and I keep going "Well, I don't really have the time to reply properly, so later..." and then of course never getting to it. >< Sorry!

"Close by Canadian standards" is probably within say four or five hours' drive at highway speeds, lol. She's somewhere up near the border with Scotland, I think east of the middle of it. But, see, places 2 1/2-3 hours away from us are day trip potential, and we've done places 4 1/2 hours away as a day trip (although that tends to make for a VERY early start and a lot of pulling over for naps on the way home). But, like, I'm say 7 hours north of the southern border with the US, and my Dad's another seven hours northeast of us, and he's only halfway up the one province.

So pretty much the entire border with Scotland is close by Canadian standards XD.

Haha, still no alarm clock but it's at a friend's house while we sort out some nonsense with the American postal service.

What did you think of GND?

Aw, don't apologise. I leave comments hanging for ages too, sometimes. It's a bad habit but one I understand well!!

o_o!! I'm less than an hour from the Scottish borders (well, if I'm driving fairly fast ;P) -- in the general region of Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland, if you've ever heard of any of those. If she's anywhere from Carlisle to Berwick-upon-Tweed, she's definitely within day-trip distance even by boring British driver standards. ;P (I routinely drive the 1.5-2 hours or so down to York for day trips, and I'd go to Edinburgh (2.5 hours, I would reckon) for a day trip quite happily. Much more than that would be pushing it but I'm always up for a challenge!)

Don't scare me with USPS horror stories! I've just ordered something from Amazon.com and I'm waiting with baited breath for it to make it over here. On the other hand, I can confidently say the Canadian postal service seems to be rather good; I'm mildly addicted to GelaSkins (based in Toronto) and their postage is always whippy-quick. :D

Loved GND. Read the entire archives and am eagerly awaiting some more.

We don't appear to be friends yet; would you care for a mutual add? :)

Absolutely! :D

Yes, Canada Post is pretty good. The USPS system though keeps rejecting this other package I'm having sent to my friend (when international shipping rates are stupid or places refuse to ship outside the US, I have the item sent to her and then she sticks it in the mail to me, so my clock is waiting for this pocket watch I ordered in frigging February)-- and rejecting it and sending it back to the store without saying why. Three times so far! *pinches bridge of nose* But I am stubborn and refuse to give up! I WILL get my watch, dammit!

My cousin is in Great Whittington, Northumberland. I thiiiink it's somewhere near Carlisle, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm basing that on; it could just sound familiar because of Belinda. *Dates self horribly* XD
