I've never actually read either, so I wasn't critiquing the fanfiction itself. But plenty of people judge an author by what they've written. I certainly don't check every story by someone if I don't like the first one. If the characters are OOC, it's not really the characters. If you can admit that's true of LF, you shouldn't get upset when people judge how you write based off of that characterization, because it would be assumed that anything else you write would be the same.

Not to be rude, honestly, but most people don't have time to give you the benefit of the doubt.
