General comments:

Thank you. You are all awesome.

Everyone here has inspired and touched me in some way. The secret makers, the commenters, the anons, the trolls – everyone. You have inspired me just by being you.

But there are some who have inspired me and had a larger impact than others, and that is the depressed (http://i.imgur.com/LYLBb.jpg) and the dreamers (http://i52.tinypic.com/2ns6pty.jpg). The ones who long for something bigger, something more, something beautiful to fill that hole. Because before you, I thought I was alone. Before you I had unformed thoughts and desires that I used to just ignore, thinking I was alone in this despondency.

I read these secrets, the ones about longing for adventure or wishing their lives were more like [enter fandom here], and I realized I wasn't alone. I sat down and thought about what would make me happy, what would make my life more exciting and make me less depressed. And I decided that I needed an adventure, a proper quest. Sitting around was never going to fill that hole, so I made a plan to do something that would help. I have formed a plan and am going after my dreams. Going after my adventure.

I'm about to depart on my big adventure (http://ameranth.wordpress.com/mission/) and in part I have you, F!S community, to thank for it.

So thank you for being awesome. For being inspirational. For being there.

And remember, even though you may feel alone and unimportant, you have changed the world just by being there. You, who I have never met and probably will never meet, have changed me and inspired me just by being you. Never stop being awesome. Never stop dreaming. And never stop being who you want to be.

I tramped 6 months trough Russia (while speaking...scraps of the language at best) and what helped me most was Whitmans "Song of the open road", in particular:

I don't know. I really wanted to make one or help out, but I'm leaving in about a week. But I really hope someone does make something; it's a great idea.

Thanks to everyone who replied! I'm a little embarrassed, because that up there is not my usual style. I was a little more emotional and overly earnest than I usually am. But hey, whatever, I wanted to put it out there and you were all very nice for not mocking me. So thanks for that.
