Gintama is a HILARIOUS PARODY of shounen. Not to the wacky extremes of, say Bobobo-bo bo-bobo...but if you've seen enough shounen and can get the references....it's HYSTERICAL.

(My favorite Gintama scene is the one where they parody the crap out of the Sensui-Itsuki meeting scene from YYH- where Gintoki mentions he has to go home to watch a favorite TV show, the villain of the week says he watches it too...and then Gintoki proceeds to beat the everloving piss out of him for saying that. I died laughing.)
