(Anonymous) 2011-05-07 02:00 am (UTC)(link)If someone thinks that being the Rose Bride is an enviable situation, then a person like Utena who wants to help them (whether hypocritically at the start of the series or genuinely at the end) and could potentially bring them into a situation where they're not shut down and feel they can be hurt even more - well, that could be a frightening situation. It's a situation Anthy could probably understand.
Wishing all the suffering, agony and worse on Utena (or perhaps someone else in real life who's being blamed) and wanting them to feel it all is probably a displacement activity. Maybe blaming people who want to help them for the fact they're unable to attain the passive unthinking doll state of mind they'd like to have.
