I dunno about the previous poster, but I'd say because it smacks of objectification. I don't have any context for that picture, but what I see are two people giving each other a quick, affectionate kiss. Nothing "hot"--not even talking about whether or not they're attractive, they're not doing anything in that kiss that would normally be considered "hot." It's just a kiss.

If you'd be fine with someone saying "Hot!" while you gave your boyfriend/girlfriend a quick peck in public, well...there are a lot of people who don't like the feeling of a brief moment of affection to be turned into someone's mental porno. It's kind of creepy.

Oh. Yeah, for me, saying "hot" to a quick kiss is kilometres from turning something into a mental porno. It could definitely make people uncomfortable, you're right, but my main issue was considering it on par to saying "ew" at something in terms of rudeness.

As a gay man I'd be equally annoyed. Most people who say this are the same people who objectify us. Which is gross and rude.

That's valid. For me, I guess it'd really depend on who it was coming from, but I'd have a much worse reaction to an 'ew.' So to each their own.

Now we're not even supposed to find something hot unless it's...I don't even know. Under what circumstances is someone allowed to find something "hot?" When does it not fall under the header of "objectification?" Does it have to be approved as "normal?" And what is normal? Why is it not normal to find a kiss hot, particularly if the parties kissing happen to both be attractive? And isn't a bit presumptive of you to determine that kissing is, well, "just kissing" and not something that anyone should find hot?

It's more that saying "hot!" out loud while seeing two people kiss has all the tact and decorum of a four-year-old loudly pointing out, "that lady has a big bottom!" Find it however you find it, but sometimes it's a little rude to just let everyone in the vicinity know.

When is it not objectification? I suppose when you're considering people as people, not just something sexy for you to look at. I think I explained what I meant by "just kissing"--two people having a private moment, not intended to be some kind of show or Hollywood Hawt Kiss.
