Please forgive me for asking such an intrusive question, and obviously don't feel like you have to indulge my curiosity in any way: is it kids you never want, or is it giving birth?

I really don't want to give birth. Ever, if I can help it. And, while I don't mind baby-sitting, the idea of being a child's primary care-taker (or one of them, depending on future circumstances) quite frankly scares the shit out of me. I just... I'm terrified. ^^;

Granted, I also have quite a few years before I would be able to think about having (but preferably adopting) children, if my current course of education goes the way I'm hoping it will, so I might change my mind in the future. But as of right here and right now, it's both that scares me. Granted, actually getting pregnant scares me more, but the idea of having children scares me to. ^^;

Okay :) Thanks for answering! It's just that both Twilight and Aliens famously contain rather horrific pregnancy or pregnancy-like images, so I was wondering, you know?

Also, I can't really say anything that might help with your fear of pregnancy, but as far as babies are concerned... The little beasties are surprisingly resilient ;) I was honestly terrified when I got home with my baby son, because I figured there was no way any baby could survive if left to my devices. Turns out he managed very well indeed :P But I sure got a huge shock when we reached his first month-date and I was like "... He's still alive?? Bwuh??" so I understand what you mean :)

I'm hoping to go to four-year college, and than join the Peace Corp afterwards, but I'm not quite sure after that. Who knows, maybe by then I'll be more comfortable with the idea. ^_^

I'm not trying to push you into changing your mind! I just wanted to share a little something that is actually more common than you'd think but that somehow mothers are not supposed to admit to or whatever *rolls eyes*

No, it's all fine! What I meant was, I know that I'm actually pretty young still, so there's a possibility I could end up changing my mind just by virtue of growing up more. ^_^
