I'm really starting to think that the whole "kink shaming" phenomenon is just a big excuse for people to do/say/write wildly offensive things.

Take all the stuff that gets labeled in fandom as "kink," and that therefore no one is allowed to criticize, stick it in a TV show, movie, or published book, and how do people in fandom react to it? "Holy shit, that's terrible! Misogyny! Racism! Transphobia! Homophobia! Ableism! Ageism! WTF!" But we must accept and tolerate all of these things if they appear in a PWP. Why?
