In my experience the average age for fans differs depending on the fandom. I've been in fandoms where the overwhelming majority were teenagers, where the overwhelming majority were college-aged, and even (especially video game fandoms, as the average gamer is 35) fandoms where the majority are pushing 30.

There is no "right" age for fandom, though, even for these - if you're from an age group outside the norm, you're still going to bring a new and refreshing perspective to the fandom as a whole.

Aw, Invasion America! I remember really loving and being hugely into this series when it first came out. I had to record every episode and then was horrified when my VCR ate my tapes. I think somewhere I still have a copy of the novelization even.

It's been so long though that I can't remember it too well. I'm guessing it's not on DVD either. Woe.

Holy crap! A Young Riders secret! I loved this show so hard and I'm sorry to hear that the fic sucks. It surprises me that there's not a lot of slash. Does that mean most of it is Kid/Lou or Rachel/one of the guys? Such a wasted opportunity.

I have the same issue with BBCSherlock. The guy who plays Sherlock looks EXACTLY like my friend Ted. I have trouble reading fic for that verse because I spend the entire time going, "What are you doing Ted?!"
