Ya know, this would be the kind of trolly secret you might post if you really loved fanfiction and wanted more of it. Because the best way to get fans to do something is to tell them to STOP HAVING THAT KIND OF FUN RIGHT NOW.

Misspelled word is misspelled.

It's been my experience that fanfic, as a rule, doesn't attack you suddenly, nor forces itself on you. Granted, there have been SOME reports of unruly fanfic that jumped at people from dark street corners... But nothing proven!

Interestingly enough, you can usually AVOID it (fyi, op) if you don't seek it out... And you can definitely scroll past it...

Novel concept, I know... But do try. Fic writers, I'm happy to say, will NOT die because of your ill wishes... but your anger will hurt you, so basically... you're only harming yourself.

Carry on, then. You seem to deserve yourself!

The problem I have with this community is that when someone posts a legitimate secret that doesn't go along with what they say, it's a giant cry fest and all of a sudden they, "seem like a bad person...," or have anger issues.

People are allowed to not like a certain part of fandom, even though I don't understand it (Freakin love fanfiction). It's CALLED A SECRET FOR A REASON. How are people not getting that. Everyone is so butthurt in this comm.

How the hell do you find fanfic for a Yuletide-sized fandom if you're not looking for it?

I'm pretty sure Withnail and I is a Yuletide fandom. And I have a hard truth for you, OP. Absolutely everything, ever, is a Yuletide fandom. Everything. Up to and including songs, advertisements, old children's cartoons, obscure movies, and books written 500 years ago. EVERYTHING. You're just going to have to deal.

I can only hope this is hyperbole. I've been in fandom long enough to know that there's people that do have enough problems to genuinely hate people who - HORRORS - like things they don't, but actually wishing death on them is much rarer.

Well, OP, I seem to be alone in not taking your hyperbole literally (I'm sure you don't actually want people to die), but we part ways after that. I've never even heard of this fandom, but I'm glad there's fic for it. I think there should be fic for everything. (Well. To a point. It makes me want to cry a little when things like Final Cut Pro make it as Yuletide fandoms- not because I'm opposed to the existence of Final Cut Pro fic, it's just that getting it in my Yuletide assignment made me want to go lie down for a while.)
