I preferred the manga version. The anime version made it suddenly seem like I was supposed to feel sorry for him, and it was just weird. I was not fond of him, overall. I did like that Misa got some kind of closure, though, even if it was only hinted at. In the manga, she got, like, a couple of lines in the How-To-Read volume saying that she'd killed herself sometime later.
