Belle didn't have attitude? She had tons of attitude! Plus she was the town weirdo and people only didn't shun her entirely because they were so superficial and thought she was pretty. Sure she is pretty, but the point was that that was all the town saw, a pretty but very very strange girl.

Also Ariel was pretty outspoken too, even though it was in a Stupid Teenager way.

They did have attitude, but it was a child's temper tantrum in comparison to others.

Perhaps attitude wasn't the right word. Spunk maybe? There's a word I'm looking for but I can't think of it. Maybe just all around badass-ery.
