Because a huge team of people pours thousands of hours into these, and they need to see at least a basic return on their time and money? DS games only cost $35-40, which isn't a ridiculous amount.

As for demos, I'm hard-pressed to find a game without a demo these days, either on Xbox Live, PSN (although they're down, heh), or for free download on the internet.

The ones I want are usually 50$ because they're new. That's too much for a DS game. Even 35 is pushing it because I honestly can't afford those games and so I either trade in ones I haven't played in a while or try to get money off of the amount. I understand they need to make money but at the same time I don't have enough to justify buying something that expensive. I don't even look at PS3 games because of their prices. o_o;

And yeah demos are really hard to find, which is a shame because I think if there were more around it'd encourage more people to buy the game.
